Baccarat Rules

Generally rules for Baccarat are very simple and don’t include too many complicated terms, online Baccarat rules can be mastered within minutes. Baccarat rules vary from one casino to another and also according to your choice of numbers of decks. However, number of cards in selecting the mode of playing is not significant because even the single-deck Baccarat allows reshuffling of cards after every hand.

New Baccarat game starts through dealer dealing with 4 cards: 2 for house and the 2 for the player. If total of either side or both sides comes as 8 or 9, it is called a `natural` hand and cards are not distributed further. If the total of both sides is same, it is called a tie. The payout odds in tie bets are much higher (8:1, against 2:1). This feature of tie bets attracts those experienced players who want to earn some quick buck

If both of these two situations don’t occur, game proceeds further according to the rules mentioned below:

  • In Baccarat, players receive cards before the house.
  • If the total of player's initial hand comes 6 or more than 6 - he/she has to make it clear because he will not receive additional cards.
  • If the total of player's initial hand comes 5 or less, he gets an additional card.
  • If the total of initial hand of house comes 7 or more - house must inform. But, if the total comes 0, 1 or 2 house takes additional card.
  • If total of House hand is 3 and player's third card doesn’t bear the face value of 8, house will make a hit.
  • Similarly, if total of House hand is 4 and player's third card doesn’t bear the face value of 1, 8, 9, or 0, house will make a hit.
  • If total of House hand is 5 and player has 4, 5, 6 or 7, house will make hit.
  • If total of House hand is 6 and player's third card is either 6 or 7, the house will again make hit.
